Anybody think they may use some of the BH Tent frame for the legs of the main theming piece like they did with TH13TEEN's tree?

It does look really empty with out the tent there now, will look a whole lot different in the coming months though!

I actually really like that it has gone now. This has actually excited me more than upset (I can't think of a less extreme word) me... how odd! :)
Definitely getting a feel of the old SW6 vibe. :P

Yeah, I think if the Black Hole had been operating up until last year, I'd feel much more sad about it going. But seeing as it's been standing there cluttering the place up for the past 7 years, good riddance.

I got an idea this morning of what SW7 might be. I know that I already thought that it might be a Mauer Sohne coaster. But I also think it will be the world's first X-Train coaster. Think about it! It's a tight track layout with that spider like thing in the middle that overlaps the track. On the X-Train, there are four seats. The side seats jut out a little beyond the track like a wingrider. If I'm not mistaken, Thorpe Park and Gardaland (both members of Merlin Entertainments) installed a wingrider coaster, so this could be like the wingrider for Alton Towers. The tight track layout could provide a more thrilling sensation for the outer seat riders.

I've heard a whisper that SW7 may be themed around Halo (the Xbox game series). I personally can't see this happening as I think the IP is too niche for the parks audience.

Fair enough Halo is a huge series but unless you're a gamer there's not much chance you'd know a thing about it. Plus there's the whole how it would fit in with the rest X-Sector.

So there you go, another cog for the rumour mill.

...grinding the flour of lies, which makes the bread of doubt and from that the sandwich of despair.

Sorry, had to make the reference to Bleak Expectations! :)

Re Halo: As a player of the game I just can't see it working with the current theme in X-Sector, and with the center piece of theming being spider shaped I thought it could be a boss but quickly drew a blank. The closest I got was a Scarab... but I think this may be just another rumor

Agreed, without a complete re-theme of the area it would not fit in, in the slightest. Plus the money spent on the IP rights, would be an utter waste.

I'm still sticking to my Oblivion tie-in theme with experiments being done on the "lost riders". It would be quite a unique theme and think of the possibilities for a Scarefest maze based upon it.

No matter how the coaster actually turns out, it's definitely going to look impressive.

I know this may go back a bit on what Stretchy suggested earlier but could the design of the robot/spider thing possibly be inspired by these beauties?

Sorry if anyone disagrees, I just finished watching the second series last night when the thought suddenley struck me. 'Masters' enslaving the human race from their might machines could possibly work as a theme.

Sorry to double post as well, meant hit the edit button and accidentley clicked the reply button. Only noticed when I'd posted! :P

If they did choose an IP then there is only 1 real scifi IP that is currently going from strength to strength and thats Dr Who. The problem with Tripods is whats the point of spending money on an IP if only a few people know about it. And whilst you and I have both watched it from start to finish (Season 1 was far better than season 2) I would think that 99% of the GP wouldnt have a clue. This is also a bit of a problem with Halo. OK I know of Halo but have never played it and most people of my generation are the same.

By the way I personally dont think its going to get any IP other than Oblivion.

Oblivion queue line has 2 characters. Bravery and Cowardice. Bravado and Fear. I think they wwill extend the story and have these as an AI that is controlling the machines. An electonic overloard that coerces you to ride and be tested. measuring the responses of the humans before it rises up and takes over humanity.

I didn't really mean having the theme of the tripods as the theme of the coaster stretch. Just some sort of Oblivion style themeing that follows a similar plot (I.e. an elite council controlling the population through machines) . I probably should have tried to make that clearer.

Trying to theme a coaster around that series would be insane to say the least. :)

Ok, this has literally just come to me... what if SW7 is themed around a retro theme, like the Fried Chicken Co.? I know it's got he spidery thing in the middle... but what about the story behind the ride and the rest of the theming?? Maybe the spidery thing could be a time-machine?? :) I mean what's the point of them having a brand new theme for a restaurant when they're just going to change it again next season? Or make it so that it definitely won't fit in. I mean I don't know if KFC wanted to pull out of the deal or whatver, but then they could either do something themed around what SW7 will be, or do a really simple job of it so it won't waste too much money. Just an idea :)
