Monday 22^nd December 2008 - 12 days ago we reported that Alton Towers had submitted their plans for the rollercoaster set to replace the legendary Corkscrew.

Yesterday the European Coaster Club (EEC) saw the plans, and have posted the following diagram on their website showing its basic layout:



As you can see, the ride has no inversions but does feature a 'switch back' section - so part of the ride looks set to be ridden backwards.

What makes this a 'Worlds First' is still unclear, but it will certainly be interesting to find out! Watch this space...
