No Concern Over Planning Delay
Alton Towers are confident that the recent reported delay will not affect 2010 development getting the green light.
Friday 13th February 2009 - Yesterday was expected to bring a final decision of whether the 2010 coaster would get planning approval or not. As reported yesterday, due to 39 letters of objection the decision has reportedly been delayed until next months district council planning meeting, to allow for further investigation.

The main concern raised in the objections is the proximity of an Iron Age hill fort to the proposed coasters site. Alton Towers have responded to these latest developments by saying that all preperations for the planning application have been thouroughly carried out, and that the county archaeologist has carried out a site visit, reporting no concerns in relation to the Iron Age hill fort.

Alton Towers are hopeful that a favourable decision will be made very soon.
