Area History
Before 1992, the area that Gloomy Wood is situated in today was part of Aqua Land. When the Haunted House was installed in 1992 the area broke away and became known as Gloomy Wood. The path that led through the area came from Katanga Canyon and went to Forbidden Valley. The area was home to the Haunted House and was accompanied by the rides shop, named Something Sinister, and a small confectionery outlet named Wicked Things.

This very well themed area laid untouched until 2003 when the Haunted House was given a re-vamp into Duel: The Haunted House Strikes Back! The re-vamp was coupled with the renaming of the ride shop to Spooks R Us and the renaming of the food outlet to Zombie Bites.
