Summary
The Runaway Mine Train is a powered steel roller coaster designed to look like it has a wooden track. The ride passes through the same tunnel as the Congo River Rapids, where you'll find guests on each of the rides waving to each other. Guests are treated to two laps of the circuit and on quiet days the train may be sent round three or more times. Overall it's a great family ride built around a very well themed area.

History
When formally known Aqua Land was renamed to Katanga Canyon in 1992, The Runaway Mine Train was introduced to the new area. In July 2006 the ride made national news as the ride's train uncoupled and split into two sections, one part of the train then rolled back into the other. Guests were air lifted to hospital for precautionary reasons and treated for shock and whiplash. Fortunately, no-one was seriously hurt. An in-depth investigation followed and the ride did not re-open until April 2007.

Reviews
Mat: (5 / 5) One of the best rides at Towers, and certainly the one with the maddest staff - they really add a lot of fun to the ride.

Ryan Frankcom: First smaller roller coaster I've been on, and it was great, not to fast, and no crazy twists, just a good ride!

Michael B.: (5 / 5) Runaway Mine Train is a great ride and its great for the family also even kids who love trains. I have been on this twice, my first ride was in 2004 and second time was in 2005. But still its brilliant it also has a great soundtrack to fill the whole of Katanga Canyon.
